Ecycle Ballard - "An Overwhelming Success!"

On April 28 InterConnection, Computers for the World and Ballard Rotary carried out an overwhelmingly successful electronic waste event. Over 1000 computers, monitors, TVs and other electronic items were collected. Thousands of dollars were raised for InterConnection and Computers for the World. We would like to thank all volunteers and organizations that helped to make this event such a success.

Here's a way to get rid of used computers, monitors and TVs:  As part of Earth Week celebrations Ballard High School ’s Computers for the World Club, Ballard Rotary Club, and InterConnection will have an E-Cycle event.

All computer boxes (CPU's), computer monitors, computer peripherals and TV's will be accepted at the event. All of these items have heavy metals and are illegal to dispose of with regular garbage service.  Working Pentium II and newer computers and 17” or larger monitors will be accepted without charge.  Older computers, monitors and all TVs will be charged recycling fees ranging from $10 for computers to $25 for TVs.  These fees are comparable to or less than the fees charged by the City of Seattle and other recyclers.  Working computer and monitor donations are tax deductible.

Proceeds and computers from the event will benefit Computers for the World and InterConnection’s efforts to provide computers to underserved areas throughout the world.  Members of the Ballard Rotary Club are sponsoring this event.

The event is scheduled for 9AM to 4PM , April 17th, rain or shine, at the Ballard High School North parking lot, located at 1418 NW 65th St , Seattle , 98117.
